You are going to experience the modern and cosmopolitan capital: Madrid.

Spain’s past and present are visible in Madrid. From the 16th Century Plaza Mayor, to the Prado museum or the modern Reina Sofia, home of  Picasso‘s masterpiece Guernica. Enjoy a stroll through the gardens of the Retiro park or the Royal Palace. Immerse yourself in the flavor of Spanish tapas and enjoy an authentic flamenco show. Shop in Spanish stores or at the most popular open air flea market in Madrid, Rastro.

The fun of summer by the sea follows in Santander.

After Madrid, the program continues in one of Europe’s most beautiful coastal regions, Santander. In Santander you will live the summer by the sea in this elegant city bursting with activities and festivals. Every day during your stay you can enjoy afternoon planned activities such surfing or sightseeing, or take advantage of your free time for things such shopping, swimming, or sunbathing. You will also improve your Spanish with customized language classes in the morning, and a home stay with a Spanish host family. We also have weekend excursions planned that may include visits to the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, prehistoric caves, or a trip to the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao.

Our comprehensive summer immersion programs, especially designed for students ages 14-to 18-year-olds include:

Welcome to Spain! Your cultural immersion starts in cosmopolitan Madrid. You arrive in the morning and transfer to the center of the city. After getting settle into the hotel, take a walking tour to admire the architecture in buildings and plazas, visit the historic Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, or the Puerta del Sol (the Times Square of Madrid). Enjoy your first Spanish lunch at a local restaurant followed by our group on-site orientation meeting. During your stay in Madrid you will also tour the Prado Museum to marvel the masterpieces of artist such Velazquez, Murillo or Goya, and the modern Reina Sofia Museum. An authentic flamenco show night is in store, along with a tapas dinner.

Enjoy a relaxing time in the Retiro (the Central Park of Madrid), take a boat out around the lake or view the many outdoor performances at the park as local madrileƱos do. Before heading to Santander, you can enjoy a last stroll through the city visiting the Rastro outdoors flea market and shop for the latest European trends.

Surfing in Somo



Our summer immersion program moves north to the elegant coastal region of Santander. Located between the sea and the mountains, the beautiful region offers everything needed for a fun summer. On the arrival to Santander you meet your host family and move into your new home for the next two weeks. During weekdays, you will receive morning hands-on language classes at our language school, while fun activities await you in the afternoons. Visit places such the Gothic cathedral of Santander, tour the city along the coast and see the Magdalena Palace or the magnificent Royal Casino, or enjoy a fun day at the beach surfing. You will also have free time to enjoy the city as locals do and mingle with new friends, go shopping, or just sit down at any of the many seaside terraces while savoring a cup of chocolate con churros.

Over the weekend we will travel to Santillana del Mar, a busy medieval town registered as a National Monument. The town have rich history and remarkable architecture where past and present blend. On your visit you can try some delicious local cheeses or pastries such sobaos pasiegos with a glass of fresh milk, or buy some locally made pottery and other souvenirs.Nearby we will visit the prehistoric caves of Altamira, filled with some of the world’s oldest and best preserved prehistoric paintings in the world.

We have a special farewell dinner planned for our group on the last day in the Santander area. We say our goodbyes and travel back to Madrid for the night.

Valencia Market



Last day and the end of the summer program in Spain. We say goodbye (for now) to our new found friends and monitors, and flight back home.
